PRIVATE VOICE INSTRUCTION

Walnut Hills students have the option to take private voice lessons with school-affiliated instructors, either during particular school bells or after school, for a separate tuition fee. For more information, please contact the instructor of your choice from the list below.

ALISON HIBSCHLE

Alison Hibschle is a voice teacher and classically trained soprano. In 2020, she graduated from DePaul University with her master’s degree in vocal performance. While at DePaul University, she studied with Nicole Cabell, was a soloist in the Ana Maria Martinez Recital, and received the Music Performance Award. Before attending DePaul University, she graduated with her bachelor’s degree in music education from Elmhurst University. She also attended the American Institute of Musical Studies in Graz, Austria, studying German lieder. She has performed at Carnegie Hall, in the Legend of Zelda tour at the Chicago Auditorium Theatre, in the chorus for two of Adrea Bocelli's tours to the All-State Arena and in Porgy and Bess at Chicago’s Ravinia Festival. Although Alison is a classically trained vocalist, she also enjoys crossing over into different styles like pop and musical theater. She encourages healthy singing technique while helping students find their natural voice.

GRETA BACHHUBER

Praised for her “noble, glittering” sound and “gratifying singing,” soprano Greta Bachhuber made her Los Angeles debut in LA Opera’s Off Grand series as Roxanne (the Countess) in Figaro 90210, a modern-day adaptation of The Marriage of Figaro. She made her international debut as Micaëla in Carmen at the Avenches  Opera Festival in Switzerland.  

 Ms. Bachhuber earned great acclaim as Miss Jessel in The Turn of the  Screw under the late Lorin Maazel at the Castleton Festival in Virginia. Anne  Midgette of The Washington Post wrote that Ms. Bachhuber “offered some of the  biggest and most climactic sounds of the night.” She returned to Castleton to  reprise the role the following year.  

Other notable engagements include Frasquita in Carmen at Opera  Philadelphia and the soprano soloist in both Faure’s Requiem and Orff’s Carmina  Burana with the Rockford Symphony, in which her voice, “soared with such  natural grace that its scintillating energy drew an audible gasp from  concertgoers” (Tim Hughes, Rockford Register Star).  

Ms. Bachhuber has also performed with the Santa Fe Opera, Chicago  Opera Theater, Palm Beach Opera and Opera Santa Barbara. She completed a  Masters Degree in Vocal Performance and Vocal Pedagogy at Chicago College of  Performing Arts; prior to pursuing opera, Ms. Bachhuber graduated magna cum  laude from Macalester College in Saint Paul, Minnesota, studying French and  Humanities. Originally from from Oak Park, Illinois, she now resides in  Cincinnati with her husband and two children.
